Where to stay in Stavanger

Where to stay in Stavanger, is a list of some of the accommodation options available in Stavanger. In the previous posts we talked a little about what there is to see and do in Stavanger. In this latest post on the Stavanger Region, we look at some accommodation options.

Where to stay in Stavanger: Bed and Breakfasts

When considering where to stay in Stavanger, if you don’t want the formality of a hotel, why not consider a Bed and Breakfast or guest house? On the Stavanger Region website, you can find around ten guest houses and Bed & Breakfasts in different parts of the city. One which is not listed there, but gets great reviews is Darby’s Inn Bed and Breakfast which promises historic charm at a short walk from the centre of Stavanger.

Where to stay in Stavanger: Hostels

A youth hostel is another budget option when thinking about where to stay in Stavanger. Hostels are great especially if travelling in a group and are happy to bunk in a shared room, or if you are backpacking alone and want to exchange travel tales with other intrepid tourists. There are two Hostelling International hostels in Stavanger, one, St Svithun, located beside the University Hospitals a walk from the city centre, and also served by several buses. Mosvangen Hostel is in a park and again with easy access to all Stavanger has to offer. If you want to start your climb to the Pulpit Rock, before it gets too busy, you might considering getting a head start by staying at the hostel at Preikestolen Mountain Lodge, located right at the foot of the Pulpit Rock trekking path.

The post picture was taken on Øvre Holmegate in the centre of Stavanger and shows the Victoria Hotel. Øvre Holmegate is a pretty street, on which you will find small boutiques constructed with wooden panels painted various vivid tones. You don’t need the sun to brighten up your day when staying in Stavanger!
