Helicopter experiences

After taking an awesome tour over the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty by helicopter, we thought we’d take a look at where else would be worth a look. Our tour was with Heliadventures but there are other companies offering tours too.

What does a helicopter tour offer that you can’t get from the ground? One obvious benefit is the view, the higher vantage point lets you see the landmarks you know well from another angle, and naturally see structures and landscapes which aren’t so easy to observe from the ground. Second is that, if you’re lucky, your pilot will double up as a tour guide. Our pilot had done the Cotswolds tour many times so had a wealth of knowledge to offer and was happy to answer all questions fielded.

The other reason is the adrenaline buzz of taking a helicopter flight. Putting the question another way, why not take a helicopter flight? 🙂

We’re looking into where the next tour will be. London Helicopter Tours and London Pleasure Flights offer tours of the capital. The prospect of getting a pilot’s view of Tower Bridge, the London Eye and Big Ben is quite an appealing one, though there are tours of rural areas available from other operators. With summer coming we might opt for taking in some of the great British countryside.
