Beira Mar Norte Florianópolis

Beira Mar Norte on the island of Santa Catarina, is an avenue which links much of the island to the Hercílio Luz bridge, in turn linking the city to continental Brazil. At the end of this afternoon, traffic is starting to pick up as commuters head home from the city – both to smaller towns on the island and the continent – while others head into the city in search of the wealth of restaurants and entertainment options available there and beyond, in Jurerê and other parts of the island.

Florianópolis has been growing as an international destination since 2009 when the NY Times featured the Island as the place to be, with it since being called ‘a new Ibiza’.

At the centre of the island and with Atlantic views make Avenida Beira Mar Norte one of the most sought after areas of Florianópolis with prices to match. The main New Year’s Eve festivities on the Island also take place on Avenida Beira Mar Norte – one of the biggest in Brazil, with the city receiving up to half a million revelers to see the new year in on the ‘Island of Magic’.
