Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions October 2018 There is even more good photography to see in London this autumn.  First we go back around 100 years to the aftermath of the First World War.  Renewal at the Imperial War Museum offers a look in detail at rebuilding cities after the Great War.  Meanwhile in Notting Hill, there is a very different landscape on display.  Hunter Barnes offers a photographic study of Las Vegas, taking the vivid vistas of the buildings as well as the workers of the legendary city.  Finally, the 2018 Taylor Wessing photographic Prize exhibition has just opened.  That is at the National Portrait Gallery, where you can also catch Illuminating Women. London Nights, featuring over 50 artists continues at the Museum of London.  There is also a group show at Hamiltons.  Modern Masters features work by Helmut Newton and Irving Penn  together with Erwin Olaf and Robert Mapplethorpe. London Photography Exhibitions September 2018 London photography exhibitions for September include a show from the Malian photographer Malick Sidibé. There is also a look at the struggles and victories of the Windrush generation. That exhibition is at the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton while Look at Me, the Sidibé show is at Hackelbury. Hackelbury are based in South Kensington and just a quarter of an hour cycle ride from Michael Hoppen. Notably Michael Hoppen is hosting Shashin: are-bure-boke an exhibition of Japanese photography. Further afield, Modern Masters continues at Hamiltons in Mayfair. Some photography exhibitions in London, such as The Great British Seaside are ending soon. You can catch Martin Parr work as well as Simon Roberts, David Hurn and Tony-Ray Jones work at that show. Similarly, Earth Photo at the Royal Geographical Society is about to close. London Photography Exhibitions September 2018 Photography exhibitions in London this month include two new group exhibitions. In Mayfair at Hamiltons, we have Modern Masters. Meanwhile, in Chelsea Michael Hoppen call on their massive collection of Japanese photography. Shashin: are-bure-boke at Michael Hoppen presents well known artists along lesser known ones. The show is spread across two floors of the gallery. Hamiltons also present work from modern photographers in their exhibition. Included is work from Erwin Olaf as well as Robert Frank and Irving Penn. Modern Masters is already open while Michael Hoppen open the doors on Friday 14th. Some photography exhibitions in London, such as Earth Photo are ending soon. Earth Photo is at the Royal Geographical Society. Just beside Hyde Park, it is walkable from Michael Hoppen. London Photography Exhibitions August 2018 There is a decent number of photography exhibitions in London worth seeing this August. We have just added Alex Prager: Silver Lake Drive to the list. This is a mid-career survey of her remarkably rich career, including images from the Crowd series. Don’t forget you can get into the exhibition for free before noon any day. Beyond Soho there is a fair bit of photography on show. In Shoreditch you can see the new Victor Diop show Liberty / Diaspora. Meanwhile, Shape of Light continues at Tate Modern while on the other side of the river at Barbican you can see Dorothea Lange. As a result it seems timely that there are two London photography exhibitions added to the list this week, championing human rights and celebrating the impact of African Americans. Senegalese photographer Omar Victor Diop has his first London solo exhibition. Liberty / Diaspora at Autograph looks at the fight for freedom and human rights in Africa as well as the diaspora. Meanwhile at Somerset House, The Influence Project celebrates the global impact of African American musicians. Meanwhile, there is a lot of other photography around the capital worth a look this week. That display is on now at Huxley-Parlour Gallery. The other new addition is at Camden Arts Centre. It is a rather interesting exhibition by Peter Fraser. Peter Fraser: Mathematics features his latest work, revealing the patterns linking ordinary objects. As well as these displays, major shows continue further east in London.
