We have added shows by Diane Arbus, Andy Warhol and David Bailey as well as Jem Southam. Jem Southam is probably the most important British landscape photographer working today. As well as those four shows, we have also added the new Maryam Eisler show at Tristan Hoare. Note that some shows including the Ulay display are ending soon. Richard Saltoun in Mayfair present Ulay which calls attention to the marginalised individual and tackles nationalism and racism as well as inequality. Both shows help to demonstrate a lifetime of achievement by perhaps the greatest documentary photographer of our time. The latest exhibition, Don McCullin, is at Tate Britain while another opened last week at Hamiltons in Mayfair. Meanwhile in Soho, Hauser & Wirth present Zoe Leonard: Aerials. That show is ending soon, read on for further details below on Aerials. Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions January 2019 Photography Exhibitions London January 2019 bring female photographers to the spotlight with no fewer than three shows showcasing female photographers. In detail, feminist artist Alexis Hunter is featured at Goldsmiths CCA in New Cross. Meanwhile at the Tate Modern, on the South Bank, there is Feminism and Media. At Somerset House, the free Charles Russell Speechlys Terrace Rooms Series continues.  The latest instalment features fashion photographers Hanna Moon and Joyce Ng.  Together they explore an impression on Western conceptions of beauty. Some Photography exhibitions in January 2019 are ending soon. Included in the list of displays coming to an end is Ansel Adams: Landscapes of the American West. That display at the Atlas gallery features some of the most recognised work from America’s most famous landscape photographer and environmentalist. Pop by 'n say hi!Photography Exhibitions London 2019 Following on from 2018, photography exhibitions London 2019 have a tough act to follow. That said, though, 2019 looks very promising. As well as the usual annual favourites such as Photo London and Photomonth, like in 2018, there is some fantastic choice. Cindy Sherman and Diane Arbus feature in major exhibitions. It is not just about international photographers though. There are important retrospectives from British photographers Martin Parr and Sir Don McCullin as well as new work from Jem Southam. There are displays of documentary and conceptual photography together with photojournalism and war photography. Not forgetting landscape photography nor anthropological work; the range of work to see in 2019 is huge. Diane Arbus work comes to the Hayward Gallery in May but that’s not before Martin Parr’s Only Human show at the National Portrait Gallery. As well as the Martin Parr exhibition, later in the year, you can see Cindy Sherman at the National Portrait Galley. There are two Sir Don McCullin exhibitions; at Tate Britain and Hamiltons Gallery. London Photography Exhibitions December 2018

Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions December 2018 As this is out last update before the Christmas break, first of all, before getting into this London Photography Exhibitions December 2018 post, we would like to wish all of our regular readers a restful break over the Christmas period and a joyful and prosperous 2019.  We will be back with regular weekly updates in January and there will be some other posts in the interim. To finish the year we add an exhibition currently running at the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace.  That display is the first exhibition to focus pioneering photographs by Sir Roger Fenton.  This images from the Crimean war were taken when  photography was still in its infancy.  A time hard to image now, with images ubiquitous in modern lives. As well as that exhibition there are continuing exhibitions at Atlas Gallery, Flowers Gallery and No 20 Arts.  These three displays can loosely considered to be related by the theme of our relationship with the planet and its environment.  There is more on these as well as other exhibitions below. Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions December 2018 Photography Exhibitions in London this December remind us of our environment.  With topics such as single use plastics in focus at the moment, this seems a great time for these shows.   Untouched landscapes, in Ansel Adams photographs, as well as a look at ‘civilisation’ feature this week.  The Ansel Adams show is on at the Atlas Gallery in Marylebone.  Meanwhile, further East at the Flowers gallery,  there is a study of Art Photography’s fascination with the way we live.  The show is inspired, in particular, by the recent release of a new book by renowned curators.  Additionally, on a similar theme, Rosie Snell’s Outliers show runs at No 20 Arts in Islington. Michael Hoppen gallery in Chelsea show rare Bill Brandt work while in South Kensington you can catch Oli Kellet’s show.  That show, Cross Road Blues, runs at HackelBury Fine Art. Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions December 2018 Although 2018 is starting to come to an end, there are still fresh exhibitions opening in London this week.  This week also sees the return of the Fix Photo to Southwark.  The festival includes the launch of Chloe Rosser’s new book.  Meanwhile in Islington Rosie Snell features at No 20 Arts.  Outliers examines our relationship with nature with Swiss and Greenlandic landscapes. Back in Central London, the free Athi-Patra Ruga show continues at Somerset House.  Further west, Michael Hoppen present rare Bill Brandt work in Chelsea.  Meanwhile, Huxley-Parlour are hosting Miles Aldridge and Todd Hido work for a couple more weeks.   That show features work from the two quite distinct artists around a suburbia theme.  Read on for more details which are given further below. London Photography Exhibitions November 2018

Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions November 2018 November 2018 sees two new and equally exciting photography exhibitions added to our list.  Significantly, rare work from British photographer Bill Brandt is on display at the Michael Hoppen Gallery in Chelsea.  Meanwhile, on the Strand you can see something very different from South African Athi-Patra Ruga.   Ruga is known, in particular, for his diverse practice.  This is clear in this exhibition which features drawings, sculpture and film  together with photography.  Athi-Patra Ruga: Of Gods, Rainbows and Omissions is on until the start of January at Somerset House.  Read on for more details which are given further below. Some of the photography exhibitions in London, like the New East Photo Prize 2018 at Calvert 22, are closing soon.   The New East Photo Prize show features work from Eastern Europe and Russia as well as Central Asia.  Another exhibition ending soon, is the Edward Burtynsky show which is at the Flowers Gallery in Soho.  In particular, Edward Burtynsky: The Human Signature explores the human impact on our planet.  The show also includes an augmented reality feature. London Photography Exhibitions November 2018

Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions November 2018 Photography exhibitions in London this month include two new and equally interesting displays.  First there is Miles Aldridge and Todd Hido at Huxley-Parlour.  Meanwhile in South Kensington you can see British artist Oli Kellet’s work.  He centres, in particular, on urban crossroads for his series at HackelBury.  The Huxley-Parlour show, in contrast, explores suburbia.  That is done through the lenses of the two uniquely different artists. There is not just work from well-known photographers on show this week.  You can examine new work on topical themes too at Autograph in Shoreditch.  They host Common Ground.  That show features work from 16 to 19 year old Londoners working together with the University of the Arts, London.   Also in Shoreditch, you can see the New East Photo Prize at Calvert 22.  Another prize show is in annual Astronomy Photographer show in Greenwich.  There are some impressive shots on display including one from UK photographer Andrew Whyte. London Photography Exhibitions November 2018

Pop by 'n say hi!London Photography Exhibitions November 2018 London photography exhibitions for November 2018 importantly include two exhibitions looking back 100 years.  This seems so relevant as we mark 100 years since the signing of the Armistice this Sunday.  First there is Renewal.  That show at the Imperial War Museum looks at rebuilding cities after the Great War.  Secondly there is Another England at Now Gallery.  That show takes photographs from an Historic England study.  The study surveys 100 years of Black and Asian English heritage. Meanwhile, modern work is the focus at Calvert 22 Foundation in Shoreditch.  The gallery hosts the biennial New East Photo Prize.  The Masters have the run of central London.  At Huxley-Parlour is Masters of Photography while at Hamiltons you can see Modern Masters.  Both of those exhibitions are closing soon.  Also closing soon is Shashin: are-bure-boke at Michael Hoppen.  London Nights is another show coming to an end.  It is running further east at the Museum of London in the City.  Finally, you can see the latest Edward Burtynsky exhibition at Flowers, Cork Street.
