With the Christmas festivities and indulgences over, and the focus now being on “new year, new me” we thought we’d start the working year with some foods that might help dieters. This comes from a Harper’s Bazaar article. We’ve taken some pics and added a little information about each food. Yesterday it was high protein, high-fibre almond butter, an alternative to peanut butter which be be suitable for allergy sufferers. Today we consider cottage cheese – high in calcium and low in fat.

Cottage cheese is full of calcium and protein, and more filling than other cheeses according to the article. Research has shown that people who ate three or four portions of calcium-rich could consume 150 to 200 more calories overall and still lose weight compared to those who ate two or fewer portions.

Cottage cheese is high in casein protein and low in fat, on top of this anyone who loaded pounds onto their credit card over Christmas will appreciate that cottage cheese is quite cheap according to Men’s Health. They suggest six recipes to combine cottage cheese in your daily diet. Packed with casein protein, calcium and cheap, cottage cheese sounds like a sound choice for a dieter.
